What bitrate should I use?
As a rule of thumb: 1080p looks good at 4–8 Mbps, 720p at 2–4 Mbps, 480p at 1–2 Mbps. Screen recordings can go lower; fast action needs more.
Is bitrate the same as quality?
Bitrate is the budget, quality is the result. The same bitrate at a lower resolution looks cleaner than at a higher one. Combine this tool with Resize for the best results.
Does audio change?
Audio is re-encoded to AAC at 128 kbps, which is transparent for most content.
