About Slimvid

Slimvid is a free browser-based video compressor that runs on your device. You pick a file, the page encodes it with the hardware encoder already in the browser, and you download the result. The video is not uploaded.

What the product does

  • Compress to an exact size, convert between common containers, trim, resize, change bitrate or frame rate, and extract or replace audio.
  • Process videos up to 1GB on your device. Nothing is uploaded. The desktop app is in development. Join the waitlist for launch updates.
  • Output for compression is H.264 video and AAC audio in an MP4. If a file or setting is not supported, the tool says so instead of pretending a software fallback exists.

What stays on the device

The video and its file name are not sent to a server for encoding. The privacy page lists the separate usage events the site sends (tool, file size, duration, codec, device details, engine and timing) and who can switch them off. Tools work without an account by default.

The name Slimvid

Slimvid is not affiliated with VidSlim, Slimcast, VideoSlimmer, or other products whose names sound similar. Those are different sites.

What this page will not invent

This site does not publish a founder biography, a registered company address, or a social-account list, because those details are not provided here. The accurate description is the product: local encoding in the browser, no watermark, and a 1GB ceiling on the web tier.
