When you actually need 8MB

Some school portals, older Discord nitro-less clients and government forms still reject anything over 8MB even though Discord itself moved to 10MB.

8MB is tight. A 30-second 720p clip is fine; a three-minute 4K file will look soft unless you trim it.

The cap is hard. If hardware encoding cannot land under 8MB, we drop resolution or ask before using the software engine.
